New President Named at Saint Viator High School

The Board of Governors of Saint Viator High School announced the appointment of Ryan Aiello as the school’s next president effective July 1, 2024. Beginning in July, Mr. Aiello will spend the next several months working closely with Rev. Thomas von Behren, C.S.V., Saint Viator’s Chief Administrator, to facilitate a smooth transition.

"I have confidence that Ryan, together with the other administrators, faculty and parents of Saint Viator and with the Board of Trustees, will build on the school's charism of academic excellence coupled with the ‘lively and enlightened faith’ that was so prized by the founder of the Viatorians, Fr. Louis Querbes," said Very Rev. Mark R. Francis, C.S.V., Provincial Superior of the Clerics of St. Viator and Chair of the Board of Governors.

Today’s announcement is the culmination of a national search conducted by a leading national search firm, Educational Directions, with assistance from an appointed search committee, members of the Board, alumni, parents, faculty and other key stakeholders.

As Art Gasey ’85, Chair of the Board of Trustees and the President Search Committee, stated, “The presidential search process was rigorous and thorough. We are blessed to have had so many qualified candidates.  Everything points to Mr. Aiello being the ideal leader for this pivotal moment in the history of our school.  I am confident with his abilities to take Saint Viator High School to even greater heights.”

Throughout his twenty-year career, Mr. Aiello has served as an educator, coach and administrator across all levels of academia. In his most recent role as principal at Eastside Catholic School in the suburbs of Seattle, WA, Mr. Aiello served in partnership with the president acting in the following areas: admissions, development, marketing, finance, planning and governance.

“I feel so blessed to be joining the outstanding, faith-filled Catholic community at Saint Viator High School as the next president. From the moment I first stepped foot on campus, I could feel the school’s deep commitment to developing students in mind, character and spirit. I look forward to partnering with our amazing students, faculty, staff, alumni and families to continue to honor the Viatorian charism and tradition, and to propel innovation and growth in the years to come,” said Mr. Aiello.

The school looks forward to kicking off Mr. Aiello’s introduction to the Saint Viator family at its largest annual fundraiser, Night of the Lion, on Saturday, April 13.

“This is an exciting time for Saint Viator High School.  I would like to express my gratitude to all those who were part of the rigorous search process, including the Search Committee, Board of Trustees, Board of Governors, faculty and staff, benefactors, alumni, families and students,” said Very Rev. Mark R. Francis, C.S.V.  “We look forward to Mr. Aiello’s leadership and this next exciting chapter in the history of Saint Viator High School.”
