Dean Dr. Deb Scerbicke to Retire at End of Fall Semester

Saint Viator High School's Dean of Students since 2000, Dr. Deb Scerbicke, has decided to retire at the end of this fall semester. In her 25 years of leadership and service to Saint Viator High School, Dean Deb has compiled a remarkable record of achievements and has been instrumental in transforming the way we approach student life on campus today.

Cultivating thousands of relationships with students and families over the years made Dean Deb the heart of the school community. Dean Deb received the Father Louis Querbes Award, acknowledging her efforts to support the mission and values of Saint Viator High School.

In 2021, the Village of Arlington Heights awarded Dean Deb the Heart of Gold Educator award, and while deserving, Dean Deb accepted the award with great humility.

When Dean Deb battled breast cancer, the tradition of the pink uniform polo shirt began and continues to be the most coveted uniform shirt color.

During Dean Deb’s final two weeks, she would love to receive cards and well wishes from all of you, our alumni, and our families.

There is no question that Saint Viator has been a special place over these past 25 years due to the energy and love that Dean Deb provided to our students and families. She will be sorely missed.
