Introducing New Assistant Athletic Director and Head Girls Flag Football Coach: Nick Sobieszczyk '05

We are pleased to announce that Nick Sobieszczyk (Coach Sobie) has been officially selected as Saint Viator’s Assistant Athletic Director, beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. 
 
As a 2005 graduate of Saint Viator, Coach Sobie takes great pride in being an integral part of such a special community that strives for excellence in all areas and is excited to continue working with our student-athletes as they navigate both their academic and athletic journeys. 
 
Coach Sobie graduated from Carthage College with a BS in Education and endorsements in Physical Education and Health Education. He was also a two-sport college athlete in soccer and basketball. He is currently pursuing his MS in Curriculum and Instruction with endorsements in ESL and Special Education (LBS1). 
 
Coach Sobie has been in the field of education for 15 years, both teaching PE and Wellness courses as well as serving as the athletic director at Saint Theresa School.
 
As the Assistant Athletic Director, Coach Sobie will work closely with the Athletic Director, Nolan Doherty, as well as with the entire coaching staff to ensure Saint Viator athletics run smoothly and efficiently. He will also take on the Head Coaching position for the newly formed Girls Flag Football Team, one of the fastest growing sports in the country! 
 
Coach Sobie is focused on providing “the most meaningful and worthwhile learning opportunities for the student-athletes of Saint Viator” and further states, “I am looking forward to working alongside our coaches, faculty, staff, and families as we continue to build positive relationships to help our student-athletes reach their fullest potential.”
