Fall Sports Recap

Cross Country
The Girls Cross Country team qualified for the IHSA State Finals as a team. All-Conference runners included Caroline Schermerhorn, Emily Walberg, Allie Long, and Jada Baer. Junior Grace VanFossen received All-Conference Honorable Mention.

The Boys Cross Country team had one State Qualifier in Sophomore All-Conference runner Owen Gottred.

Field Hockey
The Girls Varsity Field Hockey Team welcomed seven new players this season, and with their addition, the future of the team looks promising. They had some standout individual performances this season. Riley Ohrel and Anna Veronski were named to the All-Conference team, while Peyton Finnerty, Hannah Hoog, Megan Rittle, and Anna Veronski earned All-Academic honors for their excellence in the classroom.

Football
The Varsity Football Team finished the season with a 4-5 record. The team defeated St. Patrick High School on Senior Night to finish the season. ESCC All-Conference selections included Dayvion Ellis, Keaton Franzen, Cooper Kmet, Ben Konopka, Peter LaFleur, and Damacio Ortegon.

Golf
The Girls Golf team finished the season with a record of 10-3, along with a 2nd place finish in the East Suburban Catholic Conference Tournament. The girls also qualified as a team for the IHSA Sectional Tournament. Senior Lily Zicarelli won the  ESCC Individual Tournament as well as being the medalist at the Pekin tournament. She advanced to the IHSA State Finals, finishing in 22nd place.

Boys Golf had a great season with a very young team. Between JV and Varsity, they won 16 tournaments and matches throughout the year. They placed 2nd at Conference, 2nd at Regionals, and just missed going down State. Individual accolades - Ryan Kalaway (Senior - Conference Individual Champion, All-Conference, and All-State), Mac Dean (Freshman - All-Conference), Drew Battaglia (Freshman - All-Conference), and Hunter Lockefeer (Freshman - All-Conference Honorable Mention).

Boys Soccer
With many young players on Varsity this past season, Boys Soccer looks forward to a bright future ahead. Kevin Doherty was selected as the ESCC All-Conference Keeper of the Year.

Girls Swimming
The Girls Swim team had some personal best times at the IHSA Sectional Meet. Annie Stauder broke a school record in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 24.48! Lily Maloney had her best times in the 200 and 500 Freestyle. Leah Collins and Kate Maloney had their best times in the 100 Freestyle. The team won four meets under new head coach Dan Emary.

Girls Tennis
This year, the Girls Tennis team had 43 girls try out and play tennis. This is the most in school history!  

Girls Volleyball
Girls Volleyball won the IHSA Regional Championship for the 9th time in school history. The team went on a 12-match winning streak in the middle of the season and finished the year with a 27-10 record. Erin Lynch and Sydney Mittel were selected ESCC All Conference, and Avery Albriton received Honorable Mention. Six seniors were also recognized for both their talent on the court and within the classroom. Receiving AVCA “Best and Brightest” recognition included 1st Team selections Lucy Drake, Paige Oberbroeckling, and Madeleine Gauthier. Ava Sclafini and Sydney Mittel were 2nd Team selections. Isabella Botero received 3rd Team honors. Avery Albritton was named on the AVCA Phenom List.
